The debut edition of the SENSHI 28 Grand Prix, held last night at the iconic beach arena in Varna, Bulgaria, brought unforgettable action and true gladiator spirit until the very last bell. In front of nearly 1,000 spectators on-site and tens of thousands more watching the global live broadcast, the tournament delivered three intense qualifying rounds and six thunderous knockouts before crowning its first-ever heavyweight champion in the 95+ kg division. The man who lifted the inaugural SENSHI Grand Prix belt is none other than Samed Agdeve – better known as “The King.”
At just 21 years old, Agdeve was the youngest fighter in the tournament but quickly proved that age was no obstacle to greatness. He earned his place in the final by first stopping Lebanon’s Ali Badawi with a first-round knockout and then delivering a devastating finish against Germany’s Gerardo Atti in the semifinals.
The grand finale of the evening saw Agdeve face England’s Rhys Brudenell in a battle that kept fans on their feet. Both warriors gave everything they had, but it was “The King” who showcased the superior willpower, skill, and explosive power to secure a unanimous decision victory and claim the prestigious championship trophy. Agdeve also received the highly coveted “Knockout of the Night” award, further cementing his reputation as one of the most exciting rising stars on the world stage. His name is now forever written in the history of the international SENSHI gala series.
This historic tournament marked the very first time Bulgaria hosted a Grand Prix event in the heavyweight division, making the night even more memorable for fight fans.
Bulgarian athletes also delivered strong performances, appearing in two of the three SENSHI 28 super fights, though victory ultimately eluded them this time.
